The men and women who don the United States military uniform put their lives on the line, and in many cases pay the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today. As today’s brave men and women soldiers continue to escort our country into the future, it is our duty to ensure that we do not let them, their stories, or their cause be forgotten. With ashes of their recently fallen brothers in arms, 70 distinguished survivors of the greatest amphibious military assault of all time, are returning to the beaches they liberated 70 years ago in order to heal and to pay their final tribute to never forget the promises they made to those who sacrificed their lives in this historic battle that became the tipping point of Western civilization. The Normandy App layers historical data, and the personal accounts of these returning veterans over today’s peaceful Normandy peninsula in order to incorporate today’s technology so that those who come to pay tribute in the generations to come, will have a tool designed to forever honor their greatness.
